"ready or not here i come"

these prints were made from a photograph of graffiti in the parking lot near my office (see bottom photo). I wish I knew who the graffiti artist was... there is a lot of really wonderful graffiti art in the area, much of it quite political.


I love the original image -- the masked bandit look of Liberty, the texture of the concrete wall... the colors are pretty spectacular and I am hoping to make some multi-color prints with this piece.


the red print was made using a hand lithography method, transfering the photograph to a polyester plate and then inking and printing by hand.


the blue print was made by transfering the photograph to a transparency, solar etching onto a plate, and then intaglio printing with a press.

 

I guess a white one is next, maybe on newspaper with a headline about our latest invasion/liberation chaos.
